Transfer News: Tottenham could go after Domenico Berardi
According to transfer news from Express, Tottenham could look to go after Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi. The incoming director of football, Fabio Paratici, could use his Italian connections to land the £43m-rated winger.
Paratici has been named the new managing director of football at Tottenham after he quit his job at Juventus after a successful eleven-year stint. The 48-year-old was responsible for some brilliant transfers for Juve over the years, having signed the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Dani Alves, Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo, among many others.
Now, as he joins Spurs and starts work from July, he will have his work cut out. Firstly, he will have to get things worked out with the incoming manager Paulo Fonseca, who could be appointed this week. Then he will need to focus on the transfers.
One name that he could bring to North London using his connections back in Italy is Domenico Berardi. The Italian winger just wrapped up a great season for Sassuolo and is currently with the national side in the Euros.
Berardi scored 17 goals and provided seven assists, and Paratici is said to be a fan of his. However, Berardi will not come cheap as Sassuolo have slapped a £43m price tag on him.

Like Spurs, Juventus and AC Milan are also after him. While the valuation may be on the higher side, Berardi could be worth the money. Especially when we are considering that Bale has returned to Real Madrid, leaving a gaping hole in the attack. Berardi could be a handy addition to the side if Paratici can get this deal over the line.
