Tottenham tipped to appoint Graham Potter as next manager by Jamie O’Hara
According to Brighton & Hove Independent, Jamie O’Hara has tipped Tottenham to appoint Graham Potter as their new manager. The former Spurs midfielder was of the opinion that his former side should change their approach and get the Brighton manager who is familiar with the Premier League as well as a cost-effective option.
In all honesty, Spurs’ managerial search has been appalling. The club got neither of their first choice targets such as Julian Nagelsmann and Brendan Rodgers. Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca were close to getting appointed but those deals collapsed. The whole situation reached its crescendo when Gennaro Gattuso was linked and abandoned within a day or so. Spurs are slowly running out of time to appoint a full-time manager who can take over from Ryan Mason. While there is still time for the season to start, the transfer dealings will need to be done soon and with the advice of a new manager.
O’Hara wants Spurs to appoint Potter as new manager
And, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has asked his former side to look closer to home. He feels that Graham Potter should be appointed due to his Premier League know-how and cost-effective nature.
“I think you’ve got to go for someone like Graham Potter You can’t go for Gattuso or Pirlo – they’re not proven enough to go in at Spurs. If you’re not going to get someone like Conte, go for Potter, because he’s not going to argue too much about the transfer budget.
“He’ll work with what he’s got, but he plays good football with a good philosophy, knows the Premier League. He’s done a really good job at Brighton. That’s someone I think you should probably go for.”

It’s hard to disagree with O’Hara. Graham Potter has done a fine job at Brighton, even though their position in the table might suggest otherwise. The 45-year-old has gotten the team playing an attacking, attractive brand of football while doing so on a meagre budget. He would be someone worth taking a punt on for Tottenham.
