Norwich City still keen on signing Tottenham ace Oliver Skipp on loan

According to The Sun, Norwich City still remain keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur starlet Oliver Skipp on loan but are keeping their options open with Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour also a target.

Skipp, 20, is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy. Widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects to have come through the ranks, the central midfielder made his first-team debut back in 2018 and has gone on to make 23 appearances for the senior team.

Last summer saw Skipp being sent out on loan to Norwich City in order to aid his development. And the move paid off big time as the Englishman established himself as a permanent fixture in the middle of the park for the Canaries.

Indeed, Skipp played a key role in Daniel Farke’s side winning the EFL Championship and earning a promotion back to the Premier League. The 20-year-old featured in 45 league games, scoring one goal and setting up two more.

Back at Tottenham now, Skipp has reemerged as a loan target for Norwich, who are keen on the midfielder after his exploits last season. However, because of the managerial uncertainty that looms at Tottenham currently, there is little clarity over the situation of the youngster and his imminent future. As a result, the Canaries are now readying other targets, including Billy Gilmour of Chelsea. (h/t The Sun)

Skipp, going by his displays last term, certainly deserves a shot at first-team football at Tottenham next season. But in case whoever becomes the next Spurs’ boss does not see things the same way, there may be a possibility that the youngster is loaned out yet again.
