Transfer News: Manchester United enter the race for Tottenham target Max Aarons

According to transfer news from Express, Tottenham are set to face competition from Manchester United for Max Aarons. Spurs have held an interest in the Norwich man for a while now and could go for him, with Serge Aurier keen to move away.

When Matt Doherty arrived last summer, it was expected that he would compete with Aurier and both would have flourished. After all, Doherty was a huge part of Wolves that seemed to trouble sides. However, it has been anything but that.

The Irish defender struggled to fit into the traditional full-back role after flourishing as a wingback. It led to Serge Aurier and Doherty sharing the duties. Hence, it was clear that a new player had to brought in, especially after Aurier wanting to leave.

Spurs have been after Max Aarons for a while now. The Norwich starlet has been one of the best players for his side over the last few seasons despite their relegations and promotion. Now it looks as if Spurs will face competition for the £30m-rated defender from Manchester United.

More Tottenham News:

Young, dynamic and with some exposure of Premier League football, Aarons has the potential to be a handy acquisition for us. However, Fabio Paratici will have to decide on the deal soon. Spurs would want to avoid Manchester United snatching the talented defender from under our noses.
