Transfer News: Fabio Paratici issues fresh update on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur director of football, Fabio Paratici, was speaking to Sky Italy (h/t Express) and described keeping Harry Kane at the club as his ‘goal’.
The English striker is the subject of interest from Premier League champions, Manchester City. The Citizens are even believed to have had a £100m offer for Kane turned down last month.
Kane is yet to win a trophy at Spurs despite his goalscoring exploits over the years. Now 27, it is understandable if an empty trophy cabinet starts to frustrate him.
But Paratici, who was formerly employed at Juventus, claims that the club’s goal is to retain Harry Kane for next season, and that he hopes to see him play in Tottenham white again.
Harry Kane to stay at Spurs?
“Harry Kane is a top player. I can’t wait to see him playing with Spurs. We want to keep Harry Kane at Tottenham, it’s our goal. I’ve been lucky to see many top players at Juventus and I want to enjoy Harry Kane too. He’s one of the best strikers in the world.”
City are without Sergio Aguero for the new season and their interest in Kane comes as little surprise. He was the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker Award winner last season and is on fire for England at UEFA Euros 2020.
But Daniel Levy and Paratici should be tough in the face of any offers they receive. Nuno Espirito Santo, according to the Daily Mail (as covered by TTLAB), has already been assured that Kane will be at the club next season.
