Tottenham set to announce lucrative sponsorship deal to boost finances
According to an exclusive report from football.london, Tottenham Hotspur are set to announce a new training kit sponsorship deal in order to boost the club’s finances.
The past year has been difficult for all clubs including Tottenham on the financial front owing to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Club chairman Daniel Levy revealed that Spurs expected an estimated loss of around a whopping £200m in revenue due to no crowds on matchdays, cancelled and postponed events at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham were forced to take out a £175m short-term loan from the Bank of England in order to keep things running smoothly during the pandemic-hit period. That loan has been repaid last month, as per the report, with plans now being laid to boost the club’s finances further.
To that end, Tottenham are now set to announce a lucrative new sponsorship deal for their training kit. An agreement is said to be already tied up, with the club’s new partner’s name set to be made visible on the club’s Nike training apparel imminently.
Todd Kline was brought in as the Chief Commercial Officer in order to bring sponsorship agreements, including the naming rights for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A recent report from the Daily Mail indicated that the club were closing in on a deal on that front as well.

Tottenham have started their first pre-season training camp under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo over the last week. The Portuguese was appointed the new permanent manager earlier this month. With the sponsorship deals being brought in, he will hope that funds are made available for him to go out and sign players this summer.
