Manchester City preparing to make their move for Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane
According to Fichajes (h/t Daily Star), Manchester City will need to part ways with five players if they are serious about landing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer.
The English international is coming off a frustrating summer that saw the Three Lions miss out on the Euros in the final against Italy. It proved to be yet another instance of Kane coming close to winning silverware but falling short.
It is something the 27-year-old has ultimately become familiar with at Spurs. It was reported earlier this year by Sky Sports that he is ready to call time at the club and this has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City. The Premier League champions are aware that the player will not come cheap and appear to be making moves to land him.
City are also targeting Jack Grealish and will have to spend a small fortune to land both players this summer. They are looking to raise as much as £260m through player sales and are willing to part ways with five players to do so. (h/t Daily Star)
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte have all been told they can leave. The five players are key members of their title-winning side and still have it in them to contribute on the big stage. (h/t Daily Star)
Manchester City have already had an offer rejected by Tottenham for Kane, with Daniel Levy determined to keep hold of his prized possession this summer. He is ready to soften his stance and do business involving a player exchange. (h/t Express)
Curiously, however, the report suggests that Spurs are open to doing business with Chelsea over City. Whether there is more to the story or just another long shot by the press remains to be seen.
