Tottenham Hotspur’s Joe Hart to join Scottish side Celtic

Journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted about the latest on Joe Hart’s future. As per Romano, Hart’s Tottenham career is set to end. The 34-year-old goalkeeper will join Celtic on a permanent deal. He will have his medical this week and official announcement is imminent. The tweet added that the former England goalkeeper will earn a £15k per week salary. The deal is done as per the journalist.

Tottenham signed Joe Hart in 2020. As per Hart himself, he was going to push for the starting spot. However, things went downhill for the two-time Premier League winner. It looks like the veteran is set to leave without even making a single appearance in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur.

One could assume club captain Hugo Lloris will start the new season as the first choice. The World Cup winner has been at the club since 2012. However, Lloris has entered the final year of his contract and it is logical to think that the club would be assessing his situation. One more season with a world-class keeper like Lloris could certainly be an advantage for Spurs. But the club might risk losing the player for a free next summer.

Tottenham have signed Pierluigi Gollini on a season-long loan from Atalanta. He was a starter for the Italian side last season. However, it could be the case that Gollini will be an understudy to Hugo Lloris. Tottenham supporters could be seeing their new goalkeeper soon. Gollini might make his first appearance tomorrow against Chelsea.

Academy graduate Alfie Whiteman has started two out of the three club friendlies for the club. Whiteman could be the third choice for Nuno Espirito Santo.
