Tottenham fans not happy over club’s operations and results
According to The Athletic (subscription required), 94% of Tottenham fans were unhappy over the ownership and results of the club. An annual survey by the Tottenham Hotspur Supporter’s Trust (THST) revealed that to be the case after the club’s on and off-field performances over the last season.
To label the last season as disappointing would be an understatement. One of the most underwhelming seasons in recent history, Spurs fans found little joy in watching their side. Jose Mourinho’s tenure as manager unravelled with the side discovering new ways to lose games every week.
He would be removed from his post as Spurs finished the season with Ryan Mason as interim manager. A seventh-place finish and rather shambolic exits from cup competitions were all they could manage. Amidst all that, the Super League debacle put the spotlight on the owners, with fans rallying to protest the same.
The survey from THST showed that 94% of fans were unhappy with the club. In 2019, 92% were satisfied with the club, which points towards a sharp decline. Tottenham’s ownership group, ENIC wasn’t given warm feedback, with 75% of the fans dissatisfied over the direction they took the club in (h/t The Athletic).
