Harry Kane could make a U-turn and sign new deal at Tottenham
According to Football.london’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold (h/t Express), Harry Kane could yet make a U-turn and sign a new deal at the club. There is the feeling that if Manchester City wanted Kane they would have pushed earlier for him. Murmurs from Kane’s camp suggests that they are not ruling out remaining at the club and signing a new deal.
After the tumultuous season Spurs had last time, they would have hardly expected this new headache with Kane. He had informed the club of his wish to leave in search of trophies and it seemed that the talismanic striker had failed to report for training. However, Kane cleared the air with regard to the entire episode.
Currently, the player is back at the club and is quarantining in the accommodation at the stadium. Manchester City have been chasing Kane for a while now and Pep Guardiola also hinted that a move for Kane could be in the works. On the other hand, Nuno Espirito Santo has made the player available to take on City in the opening week of the Premier League on Sunday. (h/t Express)
Kane could remain at Spurs
There could be yet another spectacular turn of events. Football.london’s Tottenham correspondent, Alasdair Gold spoke on the situation regarding Kane on the Gold and Guest talk Tottenham podcast, claiming Kane could remain at the club and sign a new deal.
“I think if Man City really wanted Harry Kane, they’d have gone in hard right at the start of the summer. I know he didn’t have a release clause like Jack Grealish but ‘here’s the money, take it or leave it.’ I don’t think this ‘here’s a little bit more money’ [City approach to bidding] has really helped Harry Kane whatsoever.
“I think we are now in a situation where it’s far less likely that he moves than he does. It’s too little time but I’m intrigued to see where this goes now for Kane and camp Kane, the people around him. There’s little bits of noises coming out from his camp not to entirely rule out a new contract for him. That would be an incredible U-turn and for me, even the prospect of that is incredible.”

It would indeed be spectacular if Kane does make the U-turn. He has been a reliable performer for Spurs since making his debut and has hardly put a foot wrong. There is a chance he moves to City but with time slowly running out, the possibility of Kane remaining does look the likelier option.
