Transfer News: Tanguy Ndombele reconsidering his future at Tottenham
According to transfer news from The Athletic (h/t The Sun), Tanguy Ndombele is said to be reconsidering his future at Tottenham. The Frenchman will look to move away before the summer transfer deadline if he is kept on the sidelines by Nuno Espirito Santo.
It’s not been an easy road for Ndombele at Spurs. He had to go through a long adjustment period where he was out of favour under former manager Jose Mourinho. However, for the most part of two seasons, he is yet to show the form he showed at Lyon that prompted Spurs to shell out a club record £55million fee.
Tanguy Ndombele has yet to see a minute of action since the end of last season. He was not a part of the French squad for the Euros meaning that he was only unavailable for a short duration of the pre-season due to paternity leave. Despite being available to Nuno for all of the five pre-season friendly games, Ndombele was not called upon.
It is also understood that he is not in contention to play the season opener versus Man City as he is yet to win the trust of Nuno. Add to that, his two close friends at the club, Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier could head out of the club. That has led to him considering his future at the club. Ndombele will likely try to leave before the transfer deadline if he is snubbed in the games.

Quite why it has been so difficult for Ndombele to fit in at Spurs is hard to understand. He is a young player, capable of all-action midfield displays. Having the versatility of playing as a central or defensive midfielder, he seems to have it all that should make him a hit in the side. However, that has not been the case and now a potential exit looms.
