Transfer News: Tottenham considering a move for on Ismaila Sarr

According to transfer news from Eurosport (h/t Express), Tottenham are pondering over a deal for Ismaila Sarr. Watford value the Senegalese winger at £50million. Sarr had been previously linked to the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool but those rumours have cooled down now.

Spurs are still in the hunt for a marquee signing in attack that they feel will aid them in closing the difference between the top sides. Three signings have already been completed but a few more areas of the squad are still being looked at. Ideally, Spurs are looking to bolster the defence, central midfield and add a striker.

The initial plan was to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan and an agreement was also reached. However, that deal had to be put on hold after Romelu Lukaku made the move to Chelsea. Another name has emerged on Spurs’ radar with Ismaila Sarr despite him being more of a wide player. (h/t Express)

The Senegalese is a fleet-footed winger that can leave defenders baffled with speed. He had been linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool last season. Now, that he is back in the Premier League with Watford, he is said to be valued at an eye-watering £50million. Spurs have a clear shot at him but that price tag might be a bit too much.

Sarr is no doubt a quality winger at a very young age and could have been useful in replacing Gareth Bale who returned to Real Madrid. However, for a player with so little top-flight experience, it’s too great a risk to pay that sort of money. Finances are not exactly free-flowing in this pandemic situation and Spurs have to be sensible in certain transfers.
