Transfer News: Tottenham considering move for Martin Braithwaite
According to transfer news from Sport (h/t Football.london), Martin Braithwaite has emerged on the radar of Tottenham. A move for the Barcelona forward will be made if Harry Kane decides to leave the club. Alongside Braithwaite, the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Dusan Vlaovic have also been considered.
Spurs are days away from kicking off their season and yet they have still not solved their biggest problem with Harry Kane. The prolific striker wants to leave the club while Manchester City have been receptive to his wishes.
A departure for Kane would pose another problem with Spurs not having another senior striker in the squad. Carlos Vinicius’ loan deal was not made permanent after last season. It is for this reason that Spurs are preparing contingency plans by lining up strikers such as Martinez and Vlahovic. However, a rather surprising name has popped up on their radar.
It is understood that Martin Braithwaite could be allowed to leave Barcelona and Spurs are among the clubs after him. West Ham are the other club interested in him but the Danish striker wants some time before deciding on his next move.

If one were to discount Braithwaite’s Barcelona stint, he is in fact a very handy striker. Prior to his move, he was bagging goals at a regular rate for Elche. While he is nowhere close to Kane in any sense, he can be a shrewd signing for Spurs in case the England captain ends up leaving.
