Tottenham Hotspur have been told to increase their offer for Lautaro Martinez
According to an interview done on the Last Word on Spurs Podcast (h/t Express), Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has explained that Tottenham Hotspur will need to increase their current offer for Lautaro Martinez this summer.
The North London club had a bid of £60million accepted by Inter Milan this summer, but the Italians have since changed their stance on the transfer. The Italian giants, who have already lost the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Matteo Politano this season, are also on the verge of seeing their star man Romelu Lukaku join Spurs’ rivals, Chelsea.
Although the Nerazzurri are ready to let go of Lautaro Martinez as well, they have asked Tottenham to increase their offer and are ready to turn down anything less than their asking price of the Argentine. Fabrizio Romano told the Last Word on Spurs Podcast (h/t Express):
“It’s true that Tottenham had a bid. It was an important bid. They love Lautaro Martinez. They really consider Lautaro Martinez the perfect striker. At the moment the situation is really complicated. Inter are saying ‘no way’ but if there’s a chance, it’ll be for €90 million [£76m].”
Martinez was incredible for Inter Milan last season as he featured in all 38 Serie A games of the club and ended up netting 17 goals and providing a further 10 assists as helped the club win their first Serie A title in ten years.

Spurs will have to increase their offer if they hope to land the Argentine this summer, and they will have to do so quickly as there are less than weeks before the transfer window shuts down. Moreover, with Tottenham facing the prospect of losing Harry Kane this summer, signing Martinez could prove pivotal for the North London outfit this season.
