Transfer News: Houssem Aouar is on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur

According to an interview done by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on the YouTube channel of Arsenal Lounge (h/t football.london), Tottenham have made contact with Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar over a possible move before the end of the transfer window.

The French midfielder, who is available for £25million this summer, is on the radar of Spurs as well as North London rivals Arsenal. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained the player’s situation in detail and how he could be signed by Tottenham.

“It is a completely different situation when they wanted the player last summer, but it was not easy to find an agreement with the player and Lyon at the end of the window.

“But now he could still be an opportunity for Arsenal and for Tottenham. They are both in contact with his agent. So, they are still looking at the situation, and if Lyon will give the green light in the coming days, he could become an option for Arsenal too”.

Aouar has less than two years remaining on his current contract at Lyon. And, the French outfit are open to cashing in on the player while they still can.

The Frenchman made 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon last season as he scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in the process and helped his team secure a 4th place finish.

Spurs have been interested in signing an attacking midfielder this summer, especially after they were rumours about Tanguy Ndombele leaving the club. At 23, Aouar could benefit Spurs for a long time to come, while his price tag is also reasonable given his talent.
