Transfer News: Bernardo Silva open to Tottenham move
According to transfer news from Duncan Castles (h/t Football.london), Bernardo Silva is said to be open to a move to Tottenham. The Manchester City midfielder is said to be unhappy at the club and could be offered to Spurs as a part of a deal for Harry Kane.
Harry Kane’s potential move to Manchester City or to be exact, him leaving Spurs has to be the transfer saga of the summer. The striker has made it clear that he wants a move away from the club. He believes there is a gentleman’s agreement with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. On the other hand, Levy and Spurs believe there exists no such agreement (h/t Metro).
So far Spurs have been far from receptive to City’s offers and there is the possibility that a £150m bid could be on the cards. The fee might still not be enough to prise away the prized striker. But it opens the door just a bit for some sort of talk to take place.
Silva is open to joining Spurs
Reputed journalist Duncan Castles claims that City could include Bernardo Silva in a deal for Kane due to his situation (h/t Football.london).
“[Pep Guardiola] has a number of players who are not particularly happy where they are, he has players who want to leave, or are open to leaving. He’s publicly stated that Bernardo Silva wants to leave and perhaps we can see Bernardo Silva going to Tottenham as part of that Harry Kane deal. That’s something that Bernardo is open to considering should the clubs come to an agreement over a transfer fee.”
Bernardo has fallen down the pecking order at City over the last season but what would interest Spurs is the fact that he is open to a move to the club should the situation arise. It is definitely something to consider as he is a quality player. If Kane were really to be let go, we might as well get a star player in exchange.

Spurs’ first priority would definitely be to keep Kane. But with City ramping up their relentless efforts, it might not entirely be possible to keep turning down such ludicrous sums of money. Now, if Silva is added to that, it sounds like a decent coup for the side. Granted, he is not a like-for-like replacement, but he is a talented and versatile player that Spurs could use.
