Transfer News: Tottenham learn the price for Dusan Vlahovic
According to transfer news from Ansa (h/t Football.london), Tottenham will have to pay €100m if they want to sign Dusan Vlahovic. Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso remained confident about keeping the Serbian striker beyond the summer but conceded that an offer in that region might make them consider a sale.
Spurs are in the hunt for a striker. There is still the realistic possibility that Harry Kane might depart the club and contingency plans are needed. One such plan is to go after Fiorentina ace Vlahovic. The 21-year-old is the talk of the town after his goal-scoring exploits in Serie A last season.
Earlier, it was understood that Spanish champions Atletico Madrid were close to wrapping up a €60m deal for Vlahovic. However, new comments from Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso suggest that the race for Vlahovic is far from over and no side is in the front seat as of now.
There seems to be a good level of interest from Spurs for the 21-year-old but any move for him is expected to be made late in the window. Nonetheless, Spurs have now learnt how much it could take to land Vlahovic. Here is what the Fiorentina president had to say (via Fabrizio Romano).
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen but I’m planning to keep Vlahovic this summer, I want him to stay. But if we receive a bid for €100m, I’ll think about it.”
