Transfer News: Tottenham have edge over Chelsea in race for Adama Traore
According to Diario AS (h/t Football.london), Tottenham have the edge over Chelsea in the chase for Adama Traore. Wolves have valued the winger at €40million and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could launch a bid in that region to move ahead of Chelsea.
In recent months, the Wolves speedster has been linked with a move away from the club, and London seems to be his destination. Chelsea and Spurs seem to be the most likely destination for different reasons. Nuno Espirito Santo wants to reunite with the player while the Blues needed a wingback.
Traore did not have the best seasons at the club last time despite a few good initial years at Wolves. His output in front of goal dropped drastically and even Wolves failed to produce their best form. Both could be attributed to the unavailability of Raul Jimenez due to injury.
However, Spurs hold some advantage in this chase for Traore. Nuno Espirito Santo wants to reunite with his former charge and Wolves have valued him at €40million. It would seem Daniel Levy is ready to sit and talk about the same and possibly send in a bid of that amount. Wolves have already narrowed in on a replacement with Goncalo Guedes from Valencia.

Nuno knows Traore and vice versa. The Portuguese manager used him to good effect in the league and made him into one of the most potent players. A reunion might be just what’s needed to get Traore firing again. In all honesty, he could be a decent addition to the attack as well.
