Nuno Espirito Santo provides an update on Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane
According to Express, Nuno Espirito Santo provided some insight into the situation regarding Tottenham star Harry Kane. It is still unclear as to when Kane will feature for the side this season but for now, it seems only training is going on behind the scenes.
It’s reaching a rather concerning situation with Harry Kane. Sure, he returned a bit later than his other England colleagues but the fact is that almost all of them have featured in a few games for their clubs. Kane was left out of the season opener against Manchester City and the playoff first leg against Pacos de Ferreira.
There is also the growing feeling among some fans that Spurs may eventually give in if a substantial bid arrives for Kane. With Wolves to play on Sunday, there’s not been much of an indication whether or not Kane will feature. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo spoke about the issue but it still remained vague regarding Kane playing the game.
“My job here is not to convince players to play for Tottenham Hotspur. It is to prepare players to play for Tottenham Hotspur. He has trained, trained well. He’ll train tomorrow [Saturday] and tomorrow we’ll make a decision. Each day that he goes onto the pitch, he improves his fitness. Decisions are made when we feel that we should make them, and we will make the decision on who’s going to travel.”

Nuno’s words hardly provide encouragement over the whole issue. The fact is that Spurs are much the better side with Kane. However, there is justification for Kane not being given the nod. With all that is going around, it’s quite a distraction even for elite footballers. It’s hard to say whether the exclusion is doing any good but after a point, it might be necessary to get him involved.
