Juventus could offer Weston McKennie to sign Tottenham ace Tanguy Ndombele

According to Italian publication Il Bianconeri (h/t football.london), Tottenham Hotspur could be be offered the services of USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie as part of a swap deal for Tanguy Ndombele.

The 24-year-old French midfielder arrived at Tottenham in a club-record deal from Olympique Lyon in 2019. However, he has endured two very frustrating years in London. Having first fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho, Ndombele showed signs of resurgence last term, but his form dwindled yet again.

With Nuno Espirito Santo now in charge of the team, the Frenchman finds himself frozen out yet again, having failed to feature in a single pre-season game or make the matchday squad for any of Tottenham’s first three games of the season. When asked about his situation, Nuno said:

“What I can tell you is that Tanguy is with us, he works but we have to speak honestly and to take the best out of Tanguy has to come from himself. It has to come from himself. I don’t want to go much further than that but it has to come from himself.”

And, it is now being reported that Serie A giants Juventus could be willing to sign him and offer Spurs another midfielder, Weston McKennie, as part of the deal.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici knows McKennie very well, having helped Juventus sign him from FC Schalke last summer. And with Ndombele now not finding favour under new boss Nuno, there could be a possibility that the swap deal is considered.

Spurs have already shown that they are not averse to player trades, having sent Erik Lamela to Sevilla as part of the deal to secure the services of Bryan Gil. Whether such a deal involving Ndombele and McKennie is also struck remains to be seen.
