Transfer News: Tottenham receive a blow in chase for Dusan Vlahovic
According to transfer news from Fabrizio Romano (h/t Football.london), Tottenham have received a blow in their chase for Dusan Vlahovic. Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone has gone on to state that the 21-year-old Serbian striker will be remaining at the club beyond the end of this transfer window.
It has been a pleasant and surprising start for Spurs in the Premier League. Not to mention how tricky and challenging it could have gotten. However, consecutive wins against Manchester City and Wolves means that Spurs are one of the few sides to maintain a 100% record and keep clean sheets as well.
There was another interesting development with Harry Kane being named on the bench in the last game. He was also called up in the second half for a brief cameo in what was his first game of the season. While Dele Alli’s penalty might have been enough on the day, the need for a natural goalscorer was evident.
Now, it seems Spurs have hit a roadblock in pursuing one of their targets, namely Dusan Vlahovic. Here is what the Fiorentina CEO, Joe Barone had to say on the speculation regarding Vlahovic.
“Dusan Vlahovic is not for sale. He will stay at Fiorentina this summer, he’s untouchable as our president already said.”

While there is might still be a chance for a move but it has clearly gotten a whole lot more difficult. One of the best emerging talents in the Serie A, Vlahovic could have been huge long-term addition to the club. It will be interesting to see how things go on from here as Fiorentina are standing firm on their resolve.
