Transfer News: Tottenham yet to bid for Kurt Zouma
According to transfer news from reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are yet to make a bid for Kurt Zouma. It is actually West Ham with whom Chelsea are in talks, meaning that Spurs are running second in this race for Zouma.
Spurs taking an interest in Zouma is nothing new actually. It was right back under Jose Mourinho that he wanted to bring his former Chelsea ward to the club. It was only recently that Spurs had revived their interest with Chelsea somewhat looking to offload the Frenchman.
There was another concern as well. Would Chelsea really sell an effective player to a direct rival such as Spurs? That was quickly cleared when Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia was said to have kept their options open in case Spurs came in with an offer. Christian Falk of Bild confirmed the same.
However, it would seem that Spurs have not really acted on their interest in Zouma. Fabrizio Romano claims that Spurs are yet to have made an official bid for Zouma. However, on the other side, West Ham are in talks with Chelsea regarding Zouma as it would be the case.

It makes for interesting reading that Spurs have not yet gone after Zouma. He is a very good defender with Premier League experience and is a handy operator from the back. With West Ham continuing talks, there is a good chance Spurs miss out on this move. While it’s still not too late, Spurs might want to start ramping up their efforts if they really want him.
