Houssem Aouar and Weston McKennie not priority deals for Tottenham

According to Fabrizio Romano, Houssem Aouar and Weston McKennie are not priority deals for Tottenham. The Lilywhites have been offered the chance to sign Aouar while McKennie has also been linked with a move. But neither is being seen as a priority by the club at this point in time.

Mixed signals it may give but from what can be read into Spurs’ moves, they are interested in a new midfielder. Aouar is as classy a midfielder there is currently. The Lyon youngster is a smooth operator on the ball and has a knack for scoring goals as well.

Weston McKennie has also shot into the limelight over the last few seasons. Last year, he felt like one of the shining lights at Juventus who looked to be heading nowhere. An all-action midfielder, the USMNT midfielder is an energetic presence on the field and can make the side tick.

It would seem that Spurs have been offered the chance to sign Aouar but they have said initially. The reason is that neither he nor McKennie is seen as a priority at the moment. Hence, no talks are on right now and neither are bids being sent. Aouar might be an option that the club can look into later.

Weston McKennie is a target for Spurs.

Quite why Spurs are not being active about either midfielder is puzzling. Both of them are good young midfielders that can rejuvenate our engine room. It would be wise for Tottenham to change their mind and get at least one of them.
