Transfer News: Watford open talks for Moussa Sissoko
According to transfer news for Fabrizio Romano, Watford have opened talks with Tottenham for Moussa Sissoko. Spurs are trying to work on players moving out and Sissoko is one of them. There is the belief that an agreement can be reached for the midfielder.
It has been five years since Sissoko signed for Tottenham from Newcastle for a rather substantial amount. He had his challenges initially but slowly grew into the side over time. His energetic displays from the middle of the park were a staple during the days of Mauricio Pochettino.
To date, he has made 202 appearances, scoring five goals and setting up 16 more (h/t Transfermarkt). Now at 32 years of age, it looks like his legs are finally catching up with him. At times last season, it felt like his best days are behind him and it might be time to move on after some good years of service to the side.
It was understood that Spurs were initially struggling to offload the Frenchman. However, newly promoted Watford have come to the rescue it would seem. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed that Watford have started talks with Spurs over a move for Sissoko and a move looks positive.

Houssem Aouar and Weston McKennie not priority deals for Tottenham
Spurs are looking to freshen things up and that means getting rid of players such as Sissoko and Serge Aurier. It’s hard to say if they will fetch a decent amount but what they can help with is lightening the wage bill. Whatever funds are received can probably be funnelled into another signing- if Spurs want to make any in the near future.
