Former Tottenham Hotspur player Erik Lamela is full of praise for youngster Bryan Gil

According to an interview done with AS (h/t football.london), Erik Lamela has praised Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil.

Lamela, who spent nearly 8 years in a Tottenham shirt, was sold to Sevilla this summer as part of a player plus cash deal for the Spanish outfit’s wonderkid Bryan Gil. The youngster has so far made only three appearances, with two of them coming in the UEFA Europa Conference League while he also got to make his Premier League debut as he came on for the final minutes in Spurs’ game against Watford.

Lamela, on the other hand, has also gotten off to a fine start in Spain as he has scored three goals in three games for Sevilla under the tutelage of Julen Lopetegui. The Argentine was asked about Bryan Gil in an interview with AS, and the 29-year-old was full of praise for the youngster.

 He said (h/t football.london):

“They [Sevilla] spoke highly of him to me. He has great potential. I saw him in a match, and he has a lot of future ahead of him. Tottenham are a good group, they will receive you well”.

Lamela was also generous enough to wish the young Spaniard a good time in the Premier League.

“Seriously, enjoy yourself, because the Premier is an incredible league.”

Spurs, who currently possess Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, Giovani Lo Celso, and Heung-Min Son in the winger roles, could find it hard to provide consistent game-time to the 20-year-old.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo could be easing the player into the role before he gives him a role in the starting line-up. Regardless of when Nuno places him in the line-up, Gil looks like an exciting talent and is certainly one for Spurs’ future.
