Tottenham Hotspur set to face PSG competition for Lautaro Martinez
According to Corriere della Sera, as cited by Le10 Sport (h/t Express), Paris Saint-Germain are planning on signing Lautaro Martinez next summer in what would be a huge blow to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs, who currently possess the likes of Harry Kane, Bryan Gil, Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, and Heung-Min Son, were trying to add another forward to their ranks this summer.
The club were actively targeting a deal for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez and apparently also had a deal agreed with the Italian outfit for the Argentine in a move worth £60million.
However, the San Siro outfit also lost Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea during that time and then took a U-turn on their stance on Martinez as they faced the prospect of losing both their strikers in the same summer.
Daniel Levy was making an active push all summer, but a deal could not be agreed, however, the North London outfit ‘will’ be expected to make a move for the striker when the transfer window opens again.
But, they will now face competition from French giants Paris Saint-Germain, who are weighing up a move for the Serie A forward if Kylian Mbappe does join Real Madrid next summer.

While that is the case, it does not look like Martinez will join either club next summer as Inter Milan are planning on tying down the Argentinian to a new contract that will see the 24-year-old’s salary rise from €2.6million to €6.2million and tie down his future to the club until 2026.
Although Martinez is yet to sign a new contract, the North London outfit will have several obstacles if they do indeed plan on going back for the striker in the next transfer window.
