Transfer News: Tottenham planning move for Dusan Vlahovic next summer

According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t Football.london), Tottenham are prepared to make a renewed attempt to sign Dusan Vlahovic next summer. It has been claimed that the Serbian is the number one priority for Spurs and Fabio Paratici despite the striker currently in talks over a new deal at Fiorentina.

Spurs were at the peril of losing their star striker Harry Kane this summer. However, he was not allowed to move as Manchester City failed to meet the valuation set by Daniel Levy. That put an end to that saga but there is still a chance it resurfaces next season if Spurs fail to win silverware over this season.

That could lead the club to revisit some of their replacement plans for Kane. Dusan Vlahovic is one name that was heavily linked to Spurs but was not pursued. The towering Serbian striker is a prolific goal-getter in Italy and his 21 goals from last season are proof of that. However, Spurs never really pursued him after Kane stayed.

Post that, Vlahovic entered into talks with Fiorentina over a new deal. That will be one of the problems for Spurs to overcome next season when they plan to pursue him. It has been claimed that he is their number one target for next season should Kane depart. However, it will all depend on the agreement of a new contract.

Spurs might have lost their chance here to get the 21-year-old. A new contract will likely mean that he won’t move or that it will take a mammoth fee to prise him out of the Italian club.
