Alasdair Gold responds to Tottenham returning for Adama Traore
In a Q&A with Football.london, Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold provided some insight if the club would return for Adama Traore. He admitted that it would be down to the Spaniard agreeing on a new deal with Wolves.
Spurs and Fabio Paratici did some good work during the recently concluded transfer window. One could say that the club might even be satisfied with the business they did. However, there were a few names that dragged on right till the deadline but Spurs could not get them. We are talking about Adama Traore.
The Wolves winger is one of the most lethal players in the league. He is a dangerous blend of pace and trickery thereby making him a nuisance to deal with. Spurs apparently had gone after him in a serious way and even made bids on deadline day that were rejected. His contract issue was another reason why he was a target.
Hence, there were questions as to whether Spurs would return for the winger. Alasdair Gold answered the question to the best of his knowledge.
“Much depends on what Traore decides to do. If he signs a new contract then of course that avenue is closed, but if he declines to sign a new one then with 18 months left on his deal Wolves may have a decision to make. I’m as interested to see how Fabio Paratici operates in January as anyone.”

At this point, revisiting the interest in Traore might not be a bad idea. Spurs need more effective forwards as seen in the games so far where they have struggled to score. Nuno Espirito Santo knows the player and he is someone who can make this move work.
