Manchester City unlikely to pursue Tottenham star Harry Kane again
According to Eurosport (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester City are unlikely to return for Tottenham star Harry Kane. After missing out on Kane this season, Pep Guardiola’s side are not keen on going through the same thing again, regardless of the striker’s future at the club.
The Premier League witnessed quite the transfer drama over the last few months. It started with Kane’s admission that he wanted to leave Spurs after yet again failing to win a trophy. The message was well-received by City who were keen to sign a striker to replace Sergio Aguero. It felt like the equation would add up and a transfer might just go through.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had other plans though. Levy stood firm on his £150million valuation and it might have been too much to ask of City who had spent £100million on Jack Grealish during that time. So, Kane would end up staying and was integrated into the side and City had to call off their pursuit.
That could stay the same way as City are not keen to return for the England striker next season. There have also been developments over a new contract that Kane could sign. However, that would only happen if a release clause is inserted in the new deal. Regardless, Kane might not get his desired move to City next season.

Spurs still hold the steering wheel here. Kane has three more years on his current deal, thereby putting Tottenham and Levy under no pressure to sell. However, there could still be the case of Kane asking for a move should Spurs fail to improve upon last season’s performances.
