Transfer News: Tottenham to rekindle interest in South American midfield star in January

Transfer News: Tottenham hoping to return for Nahitan Nandez in January

According to transfer news from Nicolo Ceccarini (h/t Express), Tottenham can land Nahitan Nandez in January with a suitable offer. Spurs were after the Uruguayan in the recently closed transfer window but failed to sign him.

Tottenham were one of the more active sides in the transfer window bringing in a total of five players while selling and loaning out some more. Fabio Paratici was quite busy right till the deadline when Spurs completed their last signing in Emerson Royal. However, there were a few players that the club missed out on.

Nahitan Nandez was one such name. The Cagliari midfielder was instrumental last season in saving the club’s blushes by helping them stave off relegation. Nandez is a solid operator in midfield and his versatility is a huge asset. He had a good campaign for Uruguay in the 2021 Copa America as well.

Unsurprisingly, Spurs and various other sides such as Roma, Napoli and Inter Milan took an interest in him in the summer. Despite failing to land him, Paratici remains keen on the midfielder and could return for him in January. A suitable offer is said to be in the making from Paratici as claimed by transfer expert Nicolo Ceccarini.

Given how Spurs have so many problems with their current crop of midfielders, it’s a no-brainer that the club returns for Nandez. At just 25 years of age, the midfielder can be a huge upgrade on the likes of Harry Winks. Tottenham might want to get their efforts right in January as they need some more quality on the side.
