UEFA Europa Conference League: Tottenham team news ahead of Rennes clash
Tottenham are all set to begin their UEFA Europa Conference League group stage campaign when they face Rennes on Thursday. Spurs are playing this inaugural edition of the competition and have Vitesse Arnhem and NS Mura as the other teams in the group.
It has been a tough week or so for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. They were without several key players after the international break. A shock loss to Crystal Palace on the weekend meant that their win streak in the Premier League was down the drain. However, they will have to regroup for the game tomorrow as Rennes are no pushovers.
Here is some team news as Tottenham gear up to play Rennes (h/t Football.london).
Steven Bergwijn returns to training
The Dutch winger was missing from action on the weekend after an injury sustained on the international break. He was seen with his ankles wrapped in ice during the final game. However, he has returned to training and was also seen boarding the flight to France for the game.
Son, Sessegnon and Dier are yet to return from injuries
The injuries just keep coming for Spurs. Son Heung-Min and Ryan Sessegnon returned from national duty with their respective injuries. Both were not seen on the trip to Selhurst Park. Eric Dier was the latest casualty during the game itself after he had to be taken off with a dead leg.
None of them were spotted in training which should be a bit of concern (h/t Football.london). Nuno will be hoping that they return to the fold sooner rather than later. As for this game, it’s not clear whether they will be making the trip.

Academy players could feature
A number of academy starlets were seen getting involved with the first-team training sessions. Dane Scarlett, Nile John, Toby Omole, Dilan Markanday and Malachi Fagan-Walcott were seen going through the paces and the competition should provide them with a chance to feature more for the senior side.
