Transfer News: Tottenham make an offer for Franck Kessie
According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t ESPN), Tottenham have made a contract offer to Franck Kessie. Spurs are said to be offering him a wage packet of €8 million-per-year to lure him away from AC Milan due to his contract issues. PSG are also understood to be interested.
It’s just been two weeks since the summer transfer window closed and clubs are already looking forward to January. It could well be to reinforce the squad or to return for a player they missed out on this time. For Spurs it is likely the former when it comes to their pursuit of Franck Kessie from AC Milan.
Saturday’s loss spoke volumes about the midfield options at the disposal of Nuno Espirito Santo. Players such as Harry Winks disappointed while Oliver Skipp will need time to get used to the style of the Premier League. It is for that reason Spurs have been keeping tabs on Franck Kessie and offers are being prepared.
Kessie will see his contract run out with Milan in less than a year. That means he can be approached in January with an offer to sign a pre-contract. For Kessie, Spurs have prepared an €8 million-per-year wage packet as they look to move forward with this deal. However, they will face competition from PSG who have been in touch with the player’s representatives as well.

Spurs could use an energetic presence like Kessie on the pitch. He is someone who can contribute at both ends of the pitch as we have seen him do at Milan. Regardless, it will not be easy to get his signature as PSG are also after him.
