Graeme Souness expresses worry about Tottenham Hotspur after Chelsea loss
According to Mirror, Graeme Souness expressed concern over Tottenham Hotspur after their loss to Chelsea. He wanted players on the Spurs side to hold people accountable in what was their second loss in as many Premier League games.
It was not meant to be this way or at least that is what a majority of the people associated with the club expected in a London derby that warranted fierce competition from both sides. However, it was only Chelsea that turned up as they ripped apart the home side with relative ease.
Spurs can point to the fact that they took the game on but ran out of steam in the second half. Yet, Chelsea’s defensive players managed to trouble Spurs rather easily n had it not been for bad finishing on Chelsea’s part, things would have looked far worse. The loss marks the second consecutive 3-0 hammering Spurs have received over the last 10 days.
Graeme Souness was visibly unimpressed with Spurs and wanted some accountability from the players. He was, of course, pointing to the first goal scored by Thiago Silva after heading in from a corner.
“The thing that worries me about Spurs now after that incident no one pointed a finger at each other. That’s a reason to fall out with someone.”
The pundit also highlighted the massive difference between both sides on the day (h/t Mirror).
“We talk about Chelsea and how wonderful they are, they’re all doing the basics right, stopping the cross, putting blocks in, pressing together. Spurs looked a team that’s not a team, they’re making fundamental mistakes which led to goals at this level you don’t do the basics right you get punished.”

It was indeed a poor show on Spurs’ part and the latest loss pushes them back all the way to seventh place. They have not added a single point since the international break and that should pose some concerns over the current form. Regardless, Spurs will have a chance to bounce back somewhat with the EFL Cup starting this week.
