Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur learn AC Milan stance on Franck Kessie
According to DAZN (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur have learnt the stance from AC Milan over the future of Franck Kessie. Milan director Paolo Maldini assured that contract talks have been taking place between player and club for a while now and it will continue to be so.
AC Milan are in a real spot of bother with their star man Franck Kessie. His current deal will run out in less than a year which means clubs will be free to talk to him over a pre-contract in January over a free transfer. Milan have been trying to talk to Kessie over a new deal but have been unsuccessful so far.
That has attracted the attention of clubs such as Tottenham and a few other Premier League sides. In recent weeks, Spurs have made contact with the player’s camp and for good reason. The Ivorian can perform almost everything, starting with scoring goals and even defending his backline.
However, there has been an update that has come out of Milan. Director Paolo Maldini spoke about Kessie’s contract situation which should provide some encouragement to Spurs.
“We have been talking to his agent for a year and a half, there have been many opportunities and there will be others.”

It’s not a very confident statement when it comes to his future at the club. Spurs will get more confidence from this as it shows that the player is putting off an extension for a while now. Granted he could sign a new deal any time but for now, Spurs will fancy their chances of nabbing up the talented midfielder.
