Nuno Espirito Santo opens up on the issues with Tottenham star Harry Kane
Speaking to the press (h/t football.london), Nuno Espirito Santo elaborated on some of the issues going on with Tottenham star Harry Kane. He addressed some of the problems such as Kane’s failed move to Manchester City and faltering form so far.
Nuno Espirito Santo has a few headaches at Tottenham but one of them was rather unexpected. As Spurs kept hold of Kane over the summer when City tried their best to sign him, it felt like a huge win. However, it has not been a happy start to the season for the England captain as he is really struggling to produce anything in front of goal.
That has affected Spurs in the sense that they are missing the services of key players but they cannot turn to Kane who is in a bit of a slump. The striker is yet to score in the Premier League as Spurs have lost the last two games. He has looked really out of touch which is rather peculiar as Kane has always been a reliable player.
Nuno Espirito Santo addressed the prior links Man City first during his pre-match presser ahead of the midweek clash against Wolves.
“That’s the past. Nothing that we can say or do now or in the future will change the past. What we have to do with the past is put it behind our heads and focus in the present.”
Then questions were asked of his current form and struggles. Here is what the gaffer had to say on that (h/t Football.london).
“What we are trying to do is improve. All of us have to improve and we have to be aware of the moment that we are, that we need to improve through the competition because we don’t have too much time. We have to try things, try to improve our performances, in terms of goals, in terms of consistency, all these aspects of the game during the competition.”
