Transfer News: Tottenham handed boost in chase for Dusan Vlahovic
According to transfer news from Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a possible boost in the chase for Dusan Vlahovic. The striker is set to sign a new deal with Fiorentina but will demand a release clause of €80million which will give Spurs a chance to prise him away.
There was a slight possibility that Harry Kane could have left Spurs over the last summer transfer window. Manchester City were after him and that is when Spurs tried to procure replacements. One of the names they were after was Dusan Vlahovic of Fiorentina and they chased him through most of the summer before Kane eventually stayed back.
It is not for no reason that Vlahovic was a target. At just 21 years of age, he was the fourth-highest scorer in Serie A. It is no mean feat as he was only behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku. Much like Kane, Vlahovic stayed back at Fiorentina and could sign a new contract.
However, this is where Spurs could get a chance to nab him in the future. Vlahovic is currently negotiating a new deal but has made it clear that he wants an €80million release clause to be put in that. That will somewhat keep his options open should a club want to approach him for his services in the future.

That is by no means a low figure but it will still give some hope to Tottenham that they can pay the said amount and get Vlahovic should they want. It rules out having to negotiate with Fiorentina over a fee that should be of some relief.
