Tottenham Hotspur on high alert as Dusan Vlahovic continues to delay signing new Fiorentina deal
According to Calcio Mercato (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian was La Viola’s standout player last season, netting 21 goals in 37 Serie A appearances. His tally was only bested by three players, Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Luis Muriel. Vlahovic has continued his fine form this season, scoring five goals in his first six games.
At 21, Vlahovic has his best years ahead of him. He has shown enough potential to suggest he can be a prolific striker for years to come. Spurs can steal a march on the competition to land the player before more clubs enter the fray.
According to the report, Vlahovic’s representatives have been locked in negotiations with Fiorentina for several months, without reaching an agreement. They are aware of interest from other sides and appear to be taking their time before coming to a decision.
While the youngster could yet have a change of heart and pen fresh terms, speculation regarding his future will be rife until he chooses to do so. With two years left on his current deal, Fiorentina’s grip on negotiations will only get weaker the longer negotiations drag on.
Harry Kane’s future at the club is far from settled and the English striker could very well be part of another transfer saga next summer. In Vlahovic, Spurs will be landing themselves an extremely promising striker who has taken his game up a notch.
There is still much for the Serbian to learn and develop. For now, he remains an excellent prospect who could be on the cusp of greatness. There is only so much Fiorentina can offer him. A move to London could, however, prove to be another story.

Not only is Vlahovic a colossus in the air, but also a clinical finisher who knows where the back of the net is. He also has years to go before reaching his peak and could prove to be a clinical striker who oozes goals for fun. Spurs could be getting themselves a bonafide superstar if they land him.
