Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Dusan Vlahovic close to signing a new contract at Fiorentina
Speaking in an interview (h/t football.london), Fiorentina club director Joe Barone has confirmed that Dusan Vlahovic will soon agree a new contract at the club amidst Tottenham Hotspur links.
The 21-year-old has been in sensational form for the Italian club as he bagged 21 goals in 37 games in Serie A last season. The youngster has not lost a beat this season as he has gone on to score 6 goals in 7 games across all competitions already.
The North London club were heavily linked with the striker all summer, but a move failed to materialize as Spurs stayed put without any additions in the striker department. However, it all seemed to change recently.
The Lilywhites were ready to launch a bid worth £30million for the centre-forward, according to journalist Ekrem Konur (h/t football.london). However, all of these speculations have now been put to bed by Fiorentina club director Joe Barone as he revealed that the Serbian international is close to signing a new deal.
Barone confirmed the news in an interview, saying (h/t football.london):
“We’re well set to extend Dusan Vlahovic’s contract. There will be a new meeting to complete the agreement – but we’re ready to give him a new contract.”

Thus, this would be a huge blow for Nuno Espirito Santo and co. as they were planning on boosting the quality in the attacking department. Although the club already possesses the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Lucas Moura, Bryan Gil, and Steven Bergwijn in those roles, they could need additional depth as they are competing in four competitions almost every season.
Regardless, Fabio Paratici will have to focus his attention elsewhere as he looks to build an exciting squad for Nuno.
