Tottenham boss Nuno opens up on Harry Kane form after Aston Villa win

In conversation with Sky Sports after the Aston Villa clash (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo shared his thoughts on the current goal drought that Harry Kane is going through.

Tottenham recorded a much-needed victory against Aston Villa after a morbid run of results before that in the PL which also included a humiliating 3-1 defeat to fellow rivals Arsenal. Prior to that, Nuno’s squad had a dream start to the season as the Portuguese manager guided the club to 3 straight Premier League victories which led them to the top of the table.

While they did manage to snap that run on Sunday, Kane’s struggles in the Premier League continued. And the 47-year-old manager spoke up about the English striker’s recent form:

“He worked very well for the team. It [the first goal] will come. We are aware we have been through a tough moment. When the players gel and combine they can do very good. We have to find the balance between the defensive and attacking part of the game.”

Kane continued his run of bad form in the Premier League. The 28-year-old striker hasn’t managed to record a single league goal or assist for the Spurs this season. The experienced striker had been linked to Manchester City recently but Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy refused to let go of their star striker. It is also believed that Man City were willing to pay £150m-plus for Tottenham’s main target man.

Despite having a horrid start to this season Harry Kane has scored 166 goals and clocked 34 assists in 251 PL appearances for Spurs throughout his career. As of now, the English striker is having a tough run of games but his coach has shown his faith in him.

The striker did manage to score a hat-trick against NS Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League recently but the management and fans at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium would like him to recreate some of that magic in the Premier League and other major competitions.
