Tottenham Hotspur announce N-17 arena that will provide pre-academy development and other activities for the local community
The official Twitter handle of Tottenham Hotspur has notified its followers and supporters that the club will be starting a new sporting facility for local residents and provide them with various facilities. (h/t Football.london)
The N-17 arena will contain an Astroturf which can be used by the Club’s Academy and Global Football Development team. The pitch will be made of 18,000 recycled trainers. The Lilywhites have seen a host of talent come through from the academy. The likes of Harry Kane, Japhet Tanganga, Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp have all come through the academy.
This move could help the club save millions in the transfer market but more importantly will also help identify and nurture raw talent from a very young age. This will also help the club build a better connection with the local community and its residents. The local Primary schools will also be given the opportunity to send their best players aged 6-11 for further development here. They could then get the chance to gain a spot in the Academy Development Centre session.
There are plans for hosting a variety of other events like street food markets, match screenings and live music when fans come to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for games. Along with this there would also be a collection of other activities like disability sports provision and walking sessions for older people to fitness, exercise, and weight management sessions for local residents and multi-sports for ages 8-18.
💙 The Club is proud to introduce N17 Arena – a vibrant community space and talent ID centre in the heart of Tottenham, consisting of two first-class Mini-Pitch Systems provided by @MuscoLighting.
