Has Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg dropped a hint regarding Tottenham Hotspur unrest in Manchester United post-match comments?
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might have dropped a major hint of the dynamics within the squad in his post-match comments in the aftermath of the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.
It was Spurs’ fifth defeat in the league this season and saw them slip to eighth in the table. Worryingly enough, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side failed to land a single shot on goal at home for the first time in eight years.
It was a frustrating night out for anyone associated with the club and Hojbjerg was no different. The Dane admitted that the performance was unacceptable especially at home.
“To show up like this, it’s unacceptable and at home, where there should be fireworks and determination and character really pushing high, it wasn’t there at all.”
Perhaps curiously, Hojbjerg went on to add that he rather not speak too much on the matter. Whether it was just the midfield general speaking about the performance on the night or something more rooted behind the scenes is debatable.
“I’d better not say too much.”
Some fans have gone on to suggest that the 26-year-old’s comments hint at unrest within the Tottenham squad. The team’s disjointed displays of late do indicate just that. Tottenham are not pulling their weight and find themselves in danger of falling further down the standings.
