Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dilan Markanday nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for October
According to Tottenham Hotspur official website, U-23 prospect, Dilan Markanday has once again been nominated for the Player of the Month award following his performances in October.
The 20-year-old has netted ten goals and provided four assists from 14 matches across all competitions for his youth team. As a result, he is considered one of the brightest prospects at the academy.
Having scored four goals in October from the same number of games, which included a late winner at home against Manchester United, it is no wonder that he was nominated for the award.
The England international also scored a brace against Manchester City and helped his team to a 3-1 victory. He also scored against Crystal Palace as his side lost 4-3 at the start of the month.
The attacking midfielder also made his first-team debut in the UEFA Europa Conference League match against Vitesse at GelreDome. Thus, he became the first British Asian and Indian descent to play for Spurs’ first team.
He has been shortlisted for the third time in seven months, which goes on to show his consistency on top of his quality. He was previously included in the nominees for April and August in recent times.

Nominees are selected by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel after opposition coaches recommend the best player from the opposite team for each match throughout the month.
While it is too early to make a certain decision, the progression and development of Markanday appear to be happening in the right direction. And if he keeps this pace up, he could become a first-team player in no time.
