Lucas Moura has revealed that Mousa Dembele is the one who he misses the most at Tottenham Hotspur
Speaking in an interview on Twitch (h/t The Express), Lucas Moura has said that Mousa Dembele is the one player whom he misses the most at Tottenham Hotspur. Dembele was a former teammate of Mousa, until 2019 when he left the club for China.
The Belgian international joined Tottenham from Fulham way back in 2012 and has gone on to spend seven years at the club. He left to join Guangzhou City after Daniel Levy decided to sell him as he entered the last years of his contract.
The midfielder is regarded as one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen. He has also gone on to earn praises from his former teammates even after he left England.
“On the pitch I miss Mousa Dembele, a really incredible player. He was the best midfielder I have seen. I miss a lot of players, football gave me a lot of friends and a lot of good players that I play with.”
The 34-year-old was a key part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side who were contenders for the top four places. Tanguy Ndombele was bought to replace him, but the move has not fared well so far.
A player of his quality would have been important under Antonio Conte as he looks to rebuild the squad. The Brazilian and his Spurs teammates would need to lift themselves without the presence of the Belgian.
