Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane addresses the Manchester City transfer saga
According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane has addressed his side on the failed transfer to Manchester City in the summer. He had pushed for a move ahead of this season amidst interest from Man City but could not reach an agreement with Daniel Levy.
Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, had no plans to let go of one of his best players and, nothing came from the saga. Before the fiasco, Kane had dropped one of his best-ever seasons and won the Premier League Golden Boot and the Playmaker awards.
However, the 28-year-old has not been able to replicate that form this season and, many believe it is down to what happened in the last transfer window. The Spurs star explained his perspective of what happened ahead of the match against Albania.
“There was a lot of talk over the summer. It is the first time in my career that has happened.”
The England captain believes that he has carried himself in the best way possible and has handled the situation well. With a contract till 2024, it remains to be seen what he would do ahead of the January transfer window.
“That is part of being a big player, dealing with those situations, and I think I dealt with it well.”

It is unlikely that the Chairman’s stance would change in the coming transfer windows without a drastic change. He had demanded £150million from City for the striker to ward off the interest and succeeded in doing so.
With Antonio Conte as the new manager, he may feel that the club would have a chance at silverware after a long time. And the services of Kane could help in the process should he decide to not sell him in the future.
