Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte ‘wants to change’ Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele before January
Speaking on his ‘Here We Go’ Podcast (h/t The Express), Fabrizio Romano claimed that Antonio Conte wants to change the mentality of Tottenham Hotspur duo Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli before January.
The Italian boss took charge of the club at the start of November after Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked. Since then, he has been in charge of two games, and he has not lost either.
However, two players that did not make the starting line-up for either game were Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele. The former suffered for game time under Nuno while the latter was slowly making his way back into the first team.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Conte wants to change the mentality of the duo before January.
“Antonio Conte’s mission during this new era is to give value to the players he has in the team. To see if these players are available for his project, or whether they need to change their mentality.
“Dele Alli is one of the players Conte hopes to change in the coming weeks, same for Ndombele, he wants to trust his team. Then in December, he will decide together with Fabio Paratici what kind of players they need.”

The duo needs to inject creativity into the side, especially after the goalless draw at Goodison Park. Moreover, Conte might not keep anybody at the club that fails to impress him. He could instead sell the deadweight at the club and use that cash to sign players in January.
Thus, both Alli and Ndombele need to pick up their performances soon. Even if they fail to start the upcoming games, they need to change the game off the bench. Spurs are 9th in the league, and if they hope to challenge for the Top 4, Conte shall need his best players to step up soon.
