According to the Tottenham Hotspur official site, Former AS Roma goalkeeping coach Marco Savorani has been appointed as the first-team goalkeeping coach at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 56-year-old has previously worked with Antonio Conte in his time at ACN Siena. Savorani has extensive experience in such a role with stints in Atalanta, Chievo and Piacenza. His most recent tenure lasted for seven years with Roma.

His wealth of experience in the role could do a great deal of good for the current players in the club. Hugo Lloris is currently the first choice between the sticks and Pierluigi Gollini is the backup.

Conte was brought into the Lilywhites to steer the club in a new direction. Spurs have had a rocky spell recently as they have gone through different managers in the last couple of seasons. Ryan Mason was even made as interim manager to help bring a certain calmness to things. The former 30-year-old has been appointed as a first-team coach recently.

The former Inter Milan manager seems to be building a good team behind the curtains and the inclusion of a senior goalkeeping coach like the 56-year-old Italian could help bring another dimension to the club

Savorani has helped develop the likes of Alisson Becker in his time at the Serie A club. The Brazilian is now considered among the best keepers in the world and has played an immense part in Liverpool’s success in the last few years.

Hopefully, he can repeat the trick with the talent on offer at the Lane.

Antonio Conte is already trying to instil his values with the North London club with his dietary restrictions and rigorous training sessions. The 52-year-old manager is known to drill his players hard so that he can create an attacking mercurial brand of football.

The entire staff plays a huge role in the development of a football club and the appointment of Savorani as of now feels like a step in the right direction.
