Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur will face competition from Manchester United for Dusan Vlahovic of Fiorentina
According to Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur will face more competition for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as Manchester United enter the race for his signature. A host of clubs are keeping tabs on the player and with the Red Devils now in the fray, things could be tougher for Spurs.
Vlahovic’s contract with the Italian club expires in 2023, which has alerted top clubs across Europe who want to acquire his services. Being only 21 years of age, he would be a long term investment, and with the quality that he has shown so far, any cost incurred could be paid in due time.
The Serbian international has had a sensational 2021-22 season, having 12 goals and two assists from 14 appearances. Tottenham have shown an interest, and looking at how the forward has fared so far, it would be a great addition should a move happen in the future.
Potential striker duo in the future?
Antonio Conte had previously used a system with two strikers at Inter Milan, which helped them to a memorable Seria A title last season. Should the Fiorentina ace join the North London club, he could end up having a great partnership with Harry Kane, just like Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez did back in Italy.
The Belgian and the Argentine hitman reached their peaks under Conte, and we may see a repeat of that with Kane and Vlahovic. Negotiations for an extension have broken down between the striker and the Italian team, with the club now ‘poised’ to sell him.
The Serbian is valued at £70million, which is not the cheapest price tag in the world. But for such a talented striker with so many years ahead of him, such an investment could pay dividends in the future. With Man United entering the race, Daniel Levy would have his work cut out as a transfer battle could be in the making.

Spurs would also have to deal with other teams such as Newcastle United, Juventus and AC Milan. who are also eyeing the Seria A striker. With many clubs already in the mix for his signature, we would have to be convincing to get our man.
And with how we have struggled for goals this season, he could be what we need right now in front of goal, should a transfer actually happen. The Serbian striker is a fine finisher and could complement Kane in our frontline in certain ways.
The Englishman’s creative nous saw him bag the playmaker award in the Premier League last season. With his service coupled with Son Heung-min racing down the wings, Vlahovic could prove to be a smart addition to Spurs’ ranks if the Serbian finds his way to N17.
