Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur face competition for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as Arsenal ready to make January bid
According to the Italian publication Tuttosport (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur will face heavy competition from Arsenal for Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic as they look to ramp up their interest with a massive bid in the January transfer window.
Vlahovic has shown no signs of slowing down as he has picked up his form from where he left it off last season. With 14 goals and two assists this term, he is considered one of the most prolific young strikers in Europe right now.
The 21-year-old also helped his national team qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup after beating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the crucial qualification fixture. His displays have helped his club contend for the European places, which is a big deal considering La Viola’s recent history.
The Gunners have apparently decided to go all-in for the Serbian as they want his services in the winter transfer window. They are planning to make a massive bid of around €80million to convince the Italian club to let him go.
Juventus are keeping tabs on the striker, adding to the highly intense competition. However, it remains to be seen how they can be affected if they are found guilty of apparent false accounting records in recent transfer dealings.
Quick decision!
If we are serious about bringing him to N17, we should play our part not to get left behind in the transfer race. He could reach an agreement with other clubs if we left it too late. While Antonio Conte needs time to assess the entire squad to decide on future transfers, it should not come at the loss of those targets in the first place- if the Italian wants the Serbian striker in the first place.

Harry Kane had a good game overall against Brentford in the Premier League and was highly involved in the build-up to the goal scored by Son Heung-min. However, the former did miss a chance and has continued his goal scoring slump in the league.
Should we sign the Serbian forward, it would increase competition in the squad, and Kane would have to raise his level to keep his place- however unimaginable him being a second-choice striker sounds.
Conte could also pair them both to replicate what he did at Inter Milan with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, which is a more realistic possibility if Vlahovic comes to N17. Hopefully, it doesn’t involve Kane leaving the club in the future. Time will tell where the Serbian international would end up as the transfer window draws close, but signing him, especially from under Arsenal’s clutches, would be a sweet feeling for our fans.
