Revealed: What did Tottenham Hotspur players and staff did following the Covid outbreak

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur have decided to carry out their activities after daily assessment following the Covid outbreak, which has affected both players and staff alike. The outbreak has seen the game against Stade Rennes and Brighton and Hove Albion get postponed.

Eight first-team players tested positive for the virus, and they subsequently would have to quarantine for ten days currently. The released date will vary depending on the factors that affect recovery for different people.

The first team facilities of the Hotspur Way training ground got shut down after consultations with the Health Security Agency. Another set of testing will take place later today, with the results following it up tomorrow. That will determine how the club will respond next.

The players are given individual training schedules they have to follow at home, including guidelines for proper nutrition and maintaining fitness. Staff members including Antonio Conte, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy have to work from home until there is a change for the better.

Tough time ahead

Conte has had it tough since he came here due to several reasons and, this just adds to it. Joining during a season does not help at all but, what makes it worse is when you lose your players to the international break. He had to utilise the time available as efficiently as possible to make the task easier.

Before the outbreak, we noticed several improvements within the team as the players started to meet the demands of the Italian. It would further set us back, even though the squad has individual guidelines to follow.

What hurts more is how the momentum we have built over the past few games would be in the gutter. The team has to maintain their fitness at all costs but, for those who have the virus, it would be tough to follow. Because of obvious reasons, they are bound to get affected by it and would need to regain their lost sharpness.

Finally, there is the issue of the congested fixtures that will take place in the future. But these things are out of our hands, and we could not have anticipated such setbacks. We hope that those who tested positive will attain full recovery as soon as possible.
