Tottenham manager Antonio Conte gives his verdict on the Leicester City clash
According to the official Tottenham website, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte suggested that Spurs have a big challenge awaiting them against Leicester City.
Tottenham recently suffered a devastating Covid-19 crisis. The positive cases kept rising within the camp and ravaged the first-team squad. However, after a big break in the proceedings, the available players returned to training under Antonio Conte and have worked hard to pick up their form.
Even though Spurs are still without some of the key players, The Premier League decided to give the go-ahead to their cash against Leicester. In such a situation, when Conte’s team is trying to rise back up after a damaging health crisis that isn’t completely over yet, the match would be challenging for us, to say the very least.
The former Inter Milan manager suggested why Brendan Rodger’s team could cause severe problems for them in the coming game. The Foxes, like the Lilywhites, wanted the fixture to be postponed but it will go ahead tonight at the King Power Stadium.
“We have a difficult game, for sure, to play against Leicester. Leicester is a good team, a good squad with a good manager; they did very well in the last few years; they won trophies.”
However, the former Chelsea manager suggested that after brief training sessions with the available players, Spurs would be up for the challenge put in front of them.
“But we have to be confident because with the players that were available during the last week, we were working, we were working well and for sure we have the situation to have a good team and to try to have a good result against Leicester.”
Antonio Conte is known for his solid attitude, and given his reputation in the English top-flight, he wouldn’t present an easy match for Leicester themselves. However, the former Chelsea manager would need to find a solution for the absentees.
On the other hand, Leicester City has only managed to win 2 of their last 7 Premier League games. Brendan Rodgers has problems of his own at the King Power Stadium. It is believed that 9 Foxes players are currently in the quarantine phase after suffering from covid-related issues.

So, that does even the playing field to some extent- although, considering the scenario why the Leicester players are out, this is an advantage we could have done without, in a moral sense. Conte’s team is currently in the 7th position trailing 4 points behind 4th placed Arsenal, albeit playing three fewer games.
